Advanced items have a single property, whereas Item Specialisation weapons have two. Additional properties can be added to advanced and specialised weapons by consuming a minor item slot for each added property: advanced items have a hard limit of three properties, while Equipment Specialisation items have a limit of six. A minor item has no starting properties but may gain a single property by consuming a second slot. The same property may not be stacked!
