The Battalion campaign tracks the rise of a small-time gang into a powerful syndicate. Although you might not call yourself that.
This campaign features a territory control element as a compliment to the basic Exigency mechanics. In turn, this territory control element relies on the addition of three party-shared consumable resources:
Glory: Shifting and inconsistent, Glory is a mix of morale, momentum, and general dominance in conflicts: a winning or losing streak. Glory can be spent to go into a mission with a bonus or to counteract the worst downsides of failing an objective. Often, but not always, leaving an encounter with Block intact will count towards a party’s Glory. Glory has some crossover with reputation but is more fleeting and context-reliant, and can easily be generated or lost in a short amount of time.
Supplies: While the other resources are more abstract, Supplies covers the actual physical provisions that are the lifeblood of the group. Ending an encounter with excess Resource Tokens counts towards supplies: scrap for Tech tokens, medicines for Bio tokens and so on. Note that the absolute necessities, such as food and water, are considered separate and aren’t tracked in this campaign: Supplies in this instance are specifically the things you need to continue taking missions, or to fix yourselves up after carrying them out.
Intel: Generated by research and recon, Intel allows the party to prepare for and understand the challenges they’ll face. Where thematically appropriate, leftover Inspiration points will be converted to Intel at the end of an encounter. Intel can be used to negate enemy ambushes or initiate your own traps but no resources are needed to do these things: they simply contribute to the rolls you make.
Note that although it's easy to generate these resources, purchases (narrative effects, items and all sorts) tend to require a high price. The small amount of Glory you generate for ending an encounter with Block, for example, will contribute towards a morale boost in your next mission but won't be high enough to let you to buy it outright, and so on.
